Hellen Wangui is a patient advocate for psoriasis. She is the Secretary for the Psoriasis Association Of Kenya and an IFPA ambassador.
Hellen’s passion and works revolve around advocacy and creating public awareness on Psoriasis. She understands the burden of navigating life as a psoriasis patient in a community which has limited information on the disease.
Hellen was diagnosed with psoriasis in her teenage years, after misdiagnosis for a long period. She has first-hand experience of stigma from the public, some of whom thought her skin breakouts were contagious or related to sexually transmitted diseases. She is involved in advocacy and raising awareness using her experiences her to help provide a better understanding for of the disease and highlight the need for the right treatment and diagnosis.
